Meeting of Chefs: Guest Chef Evening with István Pesti at La Vie Gourmet

At the next edition of La Vie Gourmet’s exclusive “Meeting of Chefs” series, Executive Chef Attila Borda welcomes one of Hungary’s most distinguished fine dining chefs, István Pesti. This special evening promises a refined culinary journey shaped by creativity, precision, and harmony.

Throughout the evening, guests will be captivated by the harmony of carefully composed flavors, colors, forms, aromas, and textures. In Pesti’s cuisine, the character of Hungarian gastronomy meets the precision of French techniques and the refined influences of Asian cuisine, creating a visually stunning and complex culinary world.

As a joint creation of the two chefs, a special seasonal tasting menu will be presented, inspired by the rhythm of nature. The selection of ingredients emphasizes freshness, seasonality, and a nature-driven approach—one of the cornerstones of István Pesti’s philosophy.

István Pesti has led the kitchen of the two MICHELIN-starred Platán Gourmet Restaurant since its inception, which is Hungary’s first and only countryside restaurant awarded two MICHELIN stars. His philosophy is built on dedication, respect for ingredients and the environment, and a strong belief in the future of Hungarian gastronomy. His professional recognitions include the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Hungarian Bocuse d’Or Academy, Gault & Millau’s “Chef of the Year,” and The Best Chef Awards “Excellent” rating.
